Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She is employed by ESPN as the SportsCenter anchor for news. In 2016, she joined ESPN. She is the child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been so since the age of nine. This skill helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for the CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated away from Texas in the Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reports on her show covered immigration issues, drug trafficking, and various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. Also, she was an anchor and Spanish reporter for the newscast of 5 p.m., an anchor and reporter on the newscast from 9 p.m. on English and a Spanish reporter at 10 p.m. She was also often asked to serve as a sports and weather anchor. Later, she was anchor and reporter at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason, as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. In addition she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to anchoring sports on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In similar roles on the magazine program of the network Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd, 1984 in Mexico City. She has a sister. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, the couple divorced soon after. In 1995, she was remarried Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who died in 2006 due to kidney cancer. While on a vacation Antonietta spent the time at her sister's house in Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. As a senior in high school and yet knowing exactly what she wanted to do in her future, Antonietta visited at the University of Mount Union to assess if it suited her requirements. She loved the campus. It also gave her the major that she desired. She graduated from high school and began studying media at the university. Mark Bergmann was her professor and also the head of WRMU and WRMU, which she's a member. They developed a close friendship. Her professor urged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his passion for journalism.
